Metro single-journey QR
Counter single-journey paper QR uses the standard fare. Eligible digital QR receives 20% off. This guide does not sell tickets.

- At a CMRL counter, request the journey; for digital purchase, follow an official CMRL ticket channel.
- Review the ticket type, fare and validity before paying. Follow entry and exit instructions on the issued ticket.
Singara Chennai NCMC card
A stored-value transit card for paying per journey. It is not an unlimited monthly pass. SBI offers MTS, minimum-details and full-KYC variants. Its MTS card does not require KYC documents; requirements for other variants differ.
- At a Metro ticket counter, ask specifically for the Singara Chennai MTS card.
- The operator uses your mobile number for OTP verification. Complete verification only with the authorised operator.
- Pay the initial top-up and confirm the usable balance. Tap at Metro entry and exit. Recheck current rules and fees with SBI/CMRL.
CMRL digital Store Value Pass (SVP)
A prepaid QR product in the official CMRL app. Fares are deducted per journey with the published 20% discount. It is not an unlimited monthly ticket.
- Use the official CMRL app and complete its registration/OTP process.
- Find the digital SVP facility, choose a recharge amount and review payment details.
- After recharging, use the app’s QR and follow the gate instructions. Menus and labels may change; follow the instructions shown in the official app.
One-day / 30-day tourist cards: discontinued
CMRL discontinued its one-day and 30-day tourist cards from 1 February 2025. For current options, compare single-journey and stored-value tickets with CMRL. The planner’s monthly estimate adds up single-journey fares for your chosen travel days.

Railway season tickets
Railway season tickets depend on your stations, permitted route, class and validity. Metro travel is not automatically included. Season-ticket prices are not confirmed in this guide; check RailOne or a railway counter for the current fare and purchase options.

- For a season ticket, confirm origin/destination, permitted route, class, duration and any required identity details with RailOne or a railway counter.
